Practice makes Permanent - Don't do the Rake and Hit Method!
Hi, I’m Mel Sole, Director of Instruction at the Mel Sole Golf School, headquartered at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club in Pawleys Island, SC. We conduct 1, 2, and 3-day golf schools, hourly golf lessons, and senior golf schools—any golf instruction program your heart desires. Give us a call at 800-624-4653 or 843-237-4993. We will be happy to book a commuter school or a package that contains accommodations, golf, and golf school.
If you ever get a chance to visit a PGA Tour event, go to the practice tee and watch the top players in the world practice. They are constantly doing drills under the watchful eye of their instructor.
You will often see them exaggerate the movement, yet when they hit the ball the swing looks normal. That is because they are trying to get the body to do what it normally does not do. Exaggerating the movement speeds up the learning process.
So the next time you head to the driving range to practice, make sure you have a drill to work on that you feel will improve your golf game. By doing the repetition of the drill you can ingrain that motion. It might take a few weeks, but when you head out to the course and your swing is engrained, you will play much better than you ever imagined! Good luck!
