Warm weather is on the way, and we all want to play better golf this year. To that end, here are two simple putting drills that you can do at home. All you need is a ruler and some tees. The great thing about these particular drills is that they both provide instant feedback to let you know that your mechanics are off (or on!)

Putting Drills is a staple diet of golf professionals.  You can never stop practicing your putting until you can 1 putt every hole on the golf course!  So I guess I will be practicing my putting for the rest of my life!  Here are 2 Putting Drills You Can Do At Home that provides great feedback to you.  One is for putter head path, and the other is for putter face angle.  Check them out.

Putter head Path.

Place a yardstick on edge with two tees holding the stick steady.  Place the tees on the inside if you are working on preventing the putter head from moving away from your intended line on the follow-through and place them on the outside if you are trying to prevent the putter head from moving towards you on the follow-through.  Have the toe or the heel (depending on which stroke you are working on) as close to the yardstick as possible, so the slightest off-line movement will cause the stick to fall over.  This is great feedback.  If you are doing this drill at home, use a soda can to lean the yardstick against.

Putter face Angle.

Place two tees in the ground slightly wider than a golf ball apart.  Practicing putting the ball through the "gate."  Start at about 1 foot, and as you get better at doing this slowly move back incrementally. Finally, you can stop 3 feet.  If you can consistently hit a 3-foot putt through that gate, you are a great putter!  If you are working at home on the carpet, turn the tees upside down and stand them on the "golf ball" end.
