For Jack Nicklaus to pick a great shot in his illustrious career is like asking a farmer what the best potato he's ever grown is! There were thousands of them. Same with Jack. Thousands of great shots. But in this video, he manages to come up with one! Amazing!
Muirfield 1966.
Standing on the 16th tee at Muirfield in 1966, Jack Nicklaus said to himself, "I need a 3, 4, 4, finish to beat Doug Sanders and Welshman Dave Thomas. He made the finish he needed and won the tournament. Jack has the uncanny ability to know exactly what scores are needed to win a championship.
Muirfield 1972.
Standing on the same tee at Muirfield in 1972, Jack felt he needed the same finish to beat Lee Trevino and Tony Jacklin. He finished 4, 5, 4 to finish one shot behind the eventual winner Lee Trevino.
