This week's theme is feet and ankles and the role they play in the golf swing. The average golfer neglects ankle fitness. As you saw in our fitness video last week, the pros do stretch out the ankles, Fitness Friday #63. Here HansenFitness4Golf shows you some simple exercises that should be done just before teeing off. You will surprise yourself by the difference it will make to your scores if you do this. Follow along as Hansen Fitness 4 Golf runs through some important ankle drills.
Ankle Rolls.
Sit in a chair and put your feet about shoulder-width apart. First of all, place your two fists between your knees. Roll the ankles both inward and outward and prevent your knees from coming apart.
Achilles Heel Stretches.
Rest your toes against a curb or something that mimics that. Push your hips forward to feel a perfect stretch in the Achilles heel.
Runners Calf Stretch.
Put your palms against a wall. Move your right leg forward and push the wall. You will feel a perfect stretch in the calf. After 60 seconds, switch legs.
